In 2015 Stephenie Meyer teamed up with a few other companies including Lionsgate, the company that produced the Twilight movies, to host a contest called The Storytellers – New Voices of the Twilight Saga. It was a competition meant to bring more attention to women in film.
Contestants were to pick characters from the Twilight universe and write 5-10 minute long screenplay outlines centered around the character(s) they chose. This grand prize winner was the origin story of Alice before she became a vampire. It’s called “The Mary Alice Brandon File.” It’s about ten minutes long and follows Alice Cullen as a human, while she was locked up and tortured in a mental asylum.
You can watch some of the others on YouTube, including another Alice Story, when she had her first vision of Jasper … such a sweet story!
Don’t forget the latest book in the Twilight Saga, Midnight Sun is now available. If you haven’t checked it out yet, I highly recommend it. It’s an incredible read.
