Can you use glue to remove a splinter?

Anyone who has ever gotten a splinter knows they are the absolute worst. A splinter is a fragment of a larger object or a foreign body that penetrates or is purposely injected into a body. The foreign body must be lodged inside tissue to be considered a splinter.

What people are saying is that you can use glue to remove a splinter. But does it really work? Turns out it does! You can consider this life hack fact-checked!

So here is how to do it. Cover the area of skin around the splinter with glue and let it dry around the splinter. If you attempt to pull the glue away from your skin before it has dried completely, this trick will not work.

I’ve only tested this using Elmer’s brand glue, the school glue liquid kind, not the stick of glue. What I like about this method compared to using tweezers is that tweezers can irritate the skin. Using glue I didn’t have any trouble.

I’m amazingly surprised just how well this life hack worked. The splinter just stuck to the glue and came right out.
