How to get over a breakup
Talk it Out or Write It Down
First and foremost, facing your feelings after a break up is the most effective way of getting over your partner. Human beings have a natural itch to run away from anything that is painful and causes them discomfort. This hinders most people from expressing such painful and disturbing feelings. Writing what you feel down helps release all those feelings inside there. Also, talking to a therapist or family and friends helps you cope up with the breakup and also understand why it had to happen. Doing this helps one move from their small dull and sad world.
Keeping Yourself Busy With Activities You Love
This helps distract your mind from what is happening in your life at that time. It can be difficult but doing what you love makes you get yourself out there and keeps you smiling the whole time. Additionally, engaging in new activities and experiences is good healing therapy this is because you focus your attention on getting to understand the new activity. This brings new clarity to your life and helps rediscover yourself. Engaging in activities such as hiking, road trips and many more helps to relieve your body of stress.
Don’t Put The Blame On Yourself
After a break up many people tend to ask themselves a lot of questions “was I not good enough?” “Didn’t give it my all?” .This question lowers your self-esteem and confidence, they make you believe that whatever happened was all your fault. Therefore, it is important to be empathetic about yourself and understand that it’s not always your fault.
Avoid Stalking Your Ex On Social Media
Unfollowing your ex on social media helps you to move on since you won’t be seeing their posts. Their posts will make you create a lot of stories in your head which will make it more difficult for you to get over them. We all know that it is very easy to misinterpret someone depending on what they post on their social media posts.it is also advisable to unfollow family and friends of your ex. Deleting pictures of them and you on your social media is also a great way to shed of your memories with them. Seriously, I can’t say this enough, when you break up with your boyfriend, unfollow him on all your social media accounts. It’s the best thing you can ever do for your mental health.
Don’t rush into a new relationship
After a breakup, one feels empty and lonely. Thus, it is very easy to want to fill the emptiness with another person. This is highly discouraged by the breakup coaches.it is advisable that after a painful breakup one should stay single to heal and take a lesson from the relationship before committing themselves again. Give yourself time to learn from your previous relationship to prevent history from repeating itself.
Don’t Take Revenge On Your Ex
This the most common idea that pops into one’s mind after a breakup. This is due to feeling rejected, abandoned, and ignored. Most people want to see their exes feeling the same pain they are going through.it is primitive, barbaric, and uncouth to cross lines with your ex and being mean and vengeful to your ex. Spreading rumors and trashing their image publicly is immature. Moving on peacefully dictates a lot of dignity and class.
Take Care Of Your Health
Your health is such a time should be a priority. Remember stress causes fatigue and dizziness. Exercising and taking part in yoga sessions helps relieve stress and relax your body. Self-care is also very important, always stay well-groomed up by taking some nice bath and dressing up well. Avoid commitment that will extremely drain you. Keep your body hydrated to reduce dizziness. There is only one of you and you need to take care of that precious cargo! I know it seems hard at times, but I promise things do get better and they’ll get better a lot quicker if you spend some time on you. So take care of yourself.
Embrace The Break-Up
It’s okay to be sad. It’s perfectly normal. Accept that for awhile you are going to hurt. There is no other way to get over a break up other than accepting the feelings that come with it. The pain, rejection, abandonment, and feeling ignored are some of the feelings that come with it. The most important is to embrace this feeling and understand that they are temporary, they can be overcome.
Don’t Call Or Text Your Ex
Cutting communication ties with your ex is important, this helps fade memories of them. Though at times one is attempted to check up on them, it is advisable to resist texting or calling them. If it is such a hard task to avoid communicating with them set goals to keep you focused. This helps give reminders that you are not to contact them.
It Does Get Better!
So how do you get over a breakup? You give it time. A break up doesn’t have to be the end of your happiness and love life. You should take lessons from the painful experience to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Overcoming a breakup can be a difficult task hopefully it will be made easy.
