Let’s talk about Youth & Consequences on YouTube

YouTube has really stepped up their game this season with their subscription service called Red or YouTube Red as it’s more officially known. So far this season I’ve watched two incredible series, Lifeline, which I’m still watching, and Youth and Consequences.

I must admit before watching this series I didn’t know who Anna Akana was but now consider me a huge fan.

Anna plays the lead role in the serious, which is basically like a modern day 90210 – the 90’s version not the horrible reboot. Actually its sort of like a cross between 90210 and Mean Girls.

What’s unique about Anna’s character as the main “mean girl” she’s actually the complete opposite. She does what she does because she cares and as the series progresses you get to see a side of a mean girl that you never thought about.

No, she’s not a bully or anything like that. It’s a genuinely unique show with incredible writing.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed a few of the shows last season but this year they really stepped up their game.  I don’t know if it will get a season two, but I hope so. It may very well be one of my favorite shows on television in the past few years.

I initially wasn’t a fan of all of these break up of services. I mean there is Hulu, Netflix, Cable TV, Amazon Prime, YouTube Red, HBO Go and so on ….

But now I realize this gives writers more opportunity to make TV shows that might be good that maybe didn’t get made on a regular network like ABC or NBC because of some sort of political bullshit. Now instead of just getting a chance with the 3 major networks, they can actually make movies or have TV shows that are produced and turn out well on the subscription services like YouTube Red, Amazon Prime or whatnot.

Needless to say, I highly recommend this series and hope you will check it out. If you don’t leave a comment down below and let me know what you thought about it.
