How to make your own Crayon Lipstick

I’ve been hearing about this crayon lipstick thing for days now. It’s like all anyone seems to be talking about. The question is … how do you do it? It turns out, it’s super easy to make crayon lipstick. You only need 2 ingredients plus a container to put it in.

All you need is a single crayon, any color you want and some coconut oil. You can get crayons anywhere, just make sure you get the non-toxic kind. Don’t cheap out and get those dollar store crayons because you never know what those things are made out of. Speaking of crayons, I did some research and it said that Crayola Crayons are made primarily from paraffin wax and color pigment.

Now for your crayon lipstick you will also need some lip gloss containers to put your new crayon lipstick in. You can get these things about anywhere including Amazon, craft stores and even your local Wal-mart.

  • 1 inch of your favorite color of crayon
  • 1/4 tsp of Coconut Oil
  • Lip Gloss Container

What I did was put 1/4 tsp of coconut oil in a small glass container. I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond for about $1. I guess you could use a mason jar if you wanted.

I sat the little glass bowl in a pan of boiling water, then I put the coconut oil in and let it melt just a bit. Next I picked the color I wanted to make my crayon lipstick with and stirred it around just a bit. Once it was melted I poured the mixture into my lip gloss container.

And that’s it! If you want a deeper color try adding just slightly more crayon.
