It doesn’t surprise me to know that this book, although released five years ago (at the time I posted this review), still ranks in the top 100k most popular e-books sold. Considering there are millions of books out there and hundreds of new books added each and every day to Amazon, being in the top 100k is a big deal; being in the top 100k five years after your book was released is even more impressive.
At Last, brings us the story of Amy and Ranger Matt. In a world so full of billionaire romances, it’s nice to read a story about two normal people living in a small town.
Amy is a waitress, and Matt works as a park ranger. Of course, he’s also a former Navy and a Chicago Swat officer, making him a badass, but that makes us love him more.
Sweet little Amy isn’t exactly all that butterflies and roses and has a past of her own. The big part of this story is that both are learning to let go of their past and trust again. It’s not easy for either of them, and it’s what holds them back from finding true happiness with each other.
Eventually, of course, we get to our happily ever after; this is a Jill Shalvis romance, after all. But it takes a while for these two to get there.
It’s a nice story that will put a smile on your face in the end.
I’m crazy in love with all of the books in the Lucky Harbor series. If you are looking for a great contemporary romance, then this is probably the best series I’ve read in a long time.
All the stories are well written with professional editing and are full of likable characters in a small town that anyone would be happy to call home.
