Tomorrow is election day. When you go out there to vote, I want to remind you that despite how far women have come, even today int he United States of America, men earn on average 20% more than women … which means women earn $.80 for every $1 a man earns for the exact same job.
In addition, men’s wages grow for a longer period of time and achieve higher levels than women’s.
- At the age of 22, the median annual pay for men is $40,800 and only $31,900 for women.
- On average for men, pay stops growing at the age of 48. Their typical wage is $95,000 per year.
- On average for women, pay stops growing at the age of 39. Their typical wage at this point is $60,000 a year.
Some people blame it on the jobs women take. But did you know that even registered nurses and elementary school teachers, jobs typically associated with females, pay men on average more than women for the exact same jobs?
No, it’s not fair then men make more money than women, but today is voting day and you can cast your vote in the right direction to take one step closer in changing that fact.
