Makeup primer is something most often used as a part of a stage makeup routine, but really it can be used on anyone to keep makeup in place throughout the day.
These cremes and gels can also fill in wrinkles or lines to create an ideal blank canvas for your face before applying makeup. The problem is, most people report it as feeling heavy and they just don’t tend to like it for all day use.
Primer fills in fine lines and wrinkles, as well as providing an extra layer for the rest of your makeup to adhere to.
Primer acts as like an invisible buffer between your skin your foundation that will help your foundation look better when applied and stay on longer.
Do you have to use it? Of course not. It’s your face. You don’t have to do anything. But why not give it a try and see if you like it? There are a lot of experts who swear by it.
I personally however don’t use it. It’s just to much for me. I hate the feel of heavy makeup on my face. I prefer the lighter touch when it comes to my face but my friend swears by primer. I don’t think she ever goes a day without it.
Maybelline has what they call an Instant Age Rewind version of primer that they say ….
- Prepares skin’s surface for makeup application
- Smooths imperfections
- Helps reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles, pores
