For those that don’t know, Bloomberg tracks the popularity of our favorite music stars, sort of like how Forbes tracks the wealth of billionaires.
According to their latest report, Lady Gaga has returned to the pinnacle of pop music.
Gaga was the biggest pop star in the world this past month, according to Bloomberg’s Pop Star Power Rankings, dethroning Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny after a three-month run.
They base these popularity reports on 3-month live gross ticket sales, 30 days ticket sales, album sales, Spotify streams, YouTube views, and Instagram interactions. They combine all of this data to get their results.
- Lady Gaga
- Ariana Grande
- Dua Lipa
- Justin Bieber
- TWICE
- Billie Eilish
- Lewis Capaldi
- Tones and I
Because of Covid-19, there was no data for 3 month live gross ticket sales or 30-day ticket sales, but they did use the information on album sales, Spotify streams, youtube views, and Instagram interactions.
Lady Gaga was #1 in album sales, #1 with most Spotify Streams, #5 most popular in YouTube views, but really low at Instagram interactions, coming in at #65. Still combined that put her in the #1 spot.
By the way, the musicians with the most Instagram interactions were Snoop Dogg and Cardi B.
