Can your star sign make you more regal? You don’t have to believe in horoscopes to see that some people just appear more put together and elegant than others. Could it be because they were born under a regal birth month? Well, let’s find out!
Sure it may not be the most scientific approach, but it’s all meant for fun anyway, right?

June – 57 royals were born in June
Without a doubt, the most popular birth month for royals is June. Nearly 12% of all royals are born in June. It’s an interesting month because it contains the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, the day with the most daylight hours, and the winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere, the day with the fewest daylight hours.
So, who are we talking? Well, royals with June birthdays include Prince William, Duke of Cornwall and Cambridge, Prince Joachim Albrecht of Prussia, George Windsor, Earl of St. Andrews, Princess Alexia of the Netherlands, George III of England, George V of England, Gustaf V of Sweden, Louis I, Grand Duke of Hesse, Princess Amalie of Hesse-Darmstadt, Ernest Augustus, King of Hanover, and Louis III, Grand Duke of Hesse.
April – 44 royals were born in April
Coming in at the second most regal birth month is April, with 44 out of 500 royals. April boasts the likes of Elizabeth II of England, Princess Eugenie of York, Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany, Prince Hermann of Leiningen, Princess Mary, Duchess of Gloucester and Edinburgh, Alexander II of Russia and Princess Alice, Grand Duchess of Hesse, and by Rhine. That’s a pretty regal list right there, if I do say so myself.
January – 43 royals were born in January
January ranks as the third most regal month of the year. 43 royals out of the 500 on our list were born during January. That means almost 9% of all royals are born in this month of the year. So just who are these royals?
Philipp Pince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, Princess Kira-Marina of Prussia, Princess Cornelie Cecile of Prussia, Princess Elena of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway, Princess Victoria of Hohenzollern, Prince Gustav of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, Princess Athena of Denmark, Countess of Monpezat, Frederick VI of Denmark, John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer, Gustav, 7th Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, Prince Philip of Yugoslavia, and Beatrix of the Netherlands …. just to name a few.
February, March & December
At the other end of the regal scale, we’ve got February, March, and December, with 39, 38, and 37 royal birthdays, respectively.
But hey, don’t feel bad if you were born in December. It may not be the most regal month of the year, but there are a lot of really great royals born in December, including Prince Geroge, Duke of Kent, James, Viscount Severn, Prince Ferdinand of Hohenzollern, Prince Ferdinand Christian of Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha, Edward Windsor, Baron Downpatrick, Princess Alexandra of Leiningen, Princess Elisabeth Christine of Prussia, William II of the Netherlands, and Catharina-Amalia, Princess of Orange.
Maybe your birth month didn’t top the list as the most regal, but how about your star sign?
If you’re a Gemini, I’ve got good news for you. Almost 11% of all royals are born under the sign of Gemini! But that’s not surprising.
Gemini’s are flexible and quick-witted, which helps when it comes to royal duties. Royalty always has to be on their toes and know the right thing to say. Geminis also have excellent interpersonal skills, which makes it simple to win others over. A key skill to have when it comes to dealing with foreign dignitaries.
Gemini’s are the social butterflies of the zodiac, which is perfect for the royal who has to go to all those state dinners, garden parties, and countless charity functions.
So there you have it – even if you’re not feeling particularly regal, just remember you and royalty have one thing in common: we all have a birthday, and maybe just a few roayls were born during the same month as you!
Methodology: Some of you may be asking how we came up with our numbers. Using lists of the royal houses found on Wikipedia, we compiled a list of 500 names in total. We tried to include names from all major royal houses.
Taking the birthdays of each person, we were able to figure out their star signs, taking a total of each of the 12 signs and each of the 12 months to give the most regal birth month and the most regal star signs.
