I’m sure you’ve heard it 1000 times before, but for good measure, let me say it yet again …
Communication is the key to any successful relationship.
Studies show that the average teenager sends between 60 and 100 text messages a day. But there comes a time when you must put down your cell phone and talk to those around you. My boyfriend and I have a rule: during dinner time, all cell phones are put away. You should take that time of the day to talk to your significant other. Get to know about their day. Find out what is going on at work or with their friends and what their dreams may be.
Relationships aren’t just going to be successful because you want them to be. You must make an effort to make a relationship work.
If you want a relationship to work, you have to put in the effort. When you are with your significant other, make a significant effort to really pay attention to them.
Communication is the key to a successful relationship. And communication isn’t just talking but also listening to what the other person has to say.
If someone is telling you something, actually listen. Don’t just sit there and think about what your response is going to be.
LISTEN to their words. Hear what they are saying. Focus on them.
That is what communication is about – the give and the take. You talk, they listen. They talk, you listen.
