If you spend any amount of time on the Internet you’ve no doubt seen the Shein ads. They are big on fashion desire dupes at affordable prices. They have a Ruched short sleeve bodycon dress for $24.89, whereas you might have to spend as much as $100 to get it from somewhere else. Sure the $100 version will fit right and be made of better materials, but that isn’t the point. Shein is all about cheap clothes that look cute.

Like Fashion Nova, Shein has launched their own ambassador program, which they call #SHEINgals and they pay fashionistas to wear those clothes and promote them on Instagram.

Shein requires that you have at least 5,000 followers on your social media account to be considered for their ambassador program. That means that they don’t accept nano-influencers, but they do accept micro-influencers. If you want to work with Shein or Fashion Nova, you need to understand what it means to be a social media influencer. There are 5 types of social media influencers.

Nano influencers: Nano influencers specialize in a specific niche, with a small and engaged community that feels like they know the influencer on a personal level.

Just having followers isn’t enough. Companies want to see your engagement. The better your engagement is, the better deal you’ll be offered.

An engagement is a comment, like, or retweet. It’s called an engagement because it judges the engagement with your post. If someone likes your post, that’s a single engagement.
